Greetings!

Thank you for visiting Virtual Raven Marketing. My name is Raven Howard and I am a certified Internet Marketing Virtual Assistant and this month I begin my journey earning my Online Business Manager certification. In a nutshell, I help business owners achieve their marketing goals effectively and efficiently.

I started working virtually December 2007 as an internet technician for Comcast. It was during this time that I did my first administrative assistant duties by helping my busy virtual manager schedule meetings, train new employees and oversee a chat room full of other virtual customer service reps. Becoming the right-hand gal – to someone I hadn’t even met – was very interesting!

At that moment, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So I got busy doing it! I landed my first job as a virtual assistant as a sub-contractor in 2009. Though the work was completely new to me, I managed to get promoted to their highest level of virtual assistant within the first three weeks. This was the first time they had given someone the promotion sooner than the customary 90 day probation.

I can remember the day I was told I was going to be interviewed by a woman that was looking for someone to ease her stress. I researched her site and jotted down the things that I thought were holes in the system. I was prepped by my parent company and was advised to say “yes” to a key question the business owner was going to ask. The question: “Do you have experience in my specific industry?”  I was told to say “yes”. The truth was, I didn’t. I hadn’t even met someone that was in her line of work.

When the business owner asked me, my gut answered. I said, “Not exactly, but I do have the skill-set your seeking in a virtual assistant and I am dedicated to learning your unique needs along the way!” We chatted on and I found myself smiling as she expressed her growing success but lack of knowing how to manage it all!

I didn’t know it then, but I had established my core values as a virtual partner:

Clients enjoy my unique ability to maintain an upbeat attitude even during tedious tasks.  The basic values of loyalty and consistency are preserved from the beginning to the end of my work. I don’t simply work for my client but I discover ways to build upon the companies’ success.

My need for freedom in selecting my ideal client and being able to play a bigger role in their growth, prompted me to open Virtual Raven Business Solutions in April 2009.

It wasn’t easy starting my own business, but my husband, Joshua, supported me (both mentally and financially!) as I split my time marketing and seeking further training in my passions: shopping carts, html, newsletters, teleseminars, social networking—to name just a few!

Today, my business is thriving. I am committed to assisting stressed business owners build their success by taking over the operations they do not have to do.  I meet my client’s challenges head on and I will either complete the tasks directly or oversee outsourcing to trusted associates.

When I learn of a client that needs an Online Business Manager, I immediately ask myself, “would I love to wake up everyday and have a proactive role in the growth of their business?” if the answer is yes, I pursue getting to know them!  :)
